Molecular Identification, Transcriptome Sequencing and Functional Annotation of Pulex irritans

Pulex irritans are vectors of various zoonotic pathogens. However, molecular studies on P. and flea-borne diseases limited due to the lack data. This study aimed conduct transcriptome sequencing, functional annotation, pathogen analysis irritans. Fleas collected from a dog were identified morphologically molecularly. RNA was extracted for sequencing annotation. Open reading frames (ORFs) unigenes confirmed by employing bioinformatics strategies, maximum likelihood (ML) trees reconstructed based highly expressed genes ejaculation globulin-specific 3-like protein, salivary actin phylogenetic relationship analysis. The obtained mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene sequences showed 99.71% similarity with GenBank database. Transcriptome generated 74,412 unigenes, which 53,211 functionally annotated. A total 195 assigned fleas, 69 contained complete ORFs. Phylogenetic both ejaculatory globulin protein demonstrated that first clustered Pulicidae sp., indicating reliability It is noteworthy 1070 Hymenolepis microstoma Dipylidium caninum, 62 tree had closer relationships Echinococcus suggesting role as intermediate hosts tapeworms. results this provide possibility exploration important lay foundations prevention control diseases.
